Learn to use our Embroidery Machine
We'll cover the following:
- Hands on with Brother PR-650
- Mounting fabrics and different underlays
- Threading
- Safety practices
- Maintenance and troubleshooting
- Design
- From raster image or vector design to embroidery file
- If there's time, you'll also be able to try your own design that you brought, and embroider it either on a test piece or your own garment.
Required:
- Bring an idea for a design (design requirements: keep it small and simple, max 10x10cm and max 6 colors). You may also bring a garment to embroider on. But keep in mind that we may not have time to embroider all custom designs during the course.
For those who are already used to working in InkScape, the add-on InkStitch is an option for transforming a rastor to vector and the nembroidery file, but we will focus on the Brother PE Design and take a quick look at Hatch Embroidery
The course starts in the textile room. Please make sure to arrive a few minutes before the course starts.
The course will be held in Swedish or English, depending on what the course participants prefer.
This course will grant you permission to use the embroidery machine at the space.
As usual, you need to be a member of Stockholm Makerspace to attend our courses.
