Acrylic jewelry making workshop using the laser cutter
A creative workshop where participants can design and make
their own acrylic jewelry, keychains, or bag charms using the laser
cutter. We often overlook small scrap pieces of acrylic, that can be
repurposed into smaller projects, such as jewelry. It’s a great
opportunity to create personal Christmas gifts.
We’ll show examples for
inspiration, demonstrate the drawing-to-vector tool ShaperTrace, and
help participants turn their drawings or ideas into finished pieces.
Basic diy jewelry/keychain material is included in the course and there
will be tools will be available.
Participants can expect to:
• Learn how to prepare simple designs for the laser cutter.
• See how ShaperTrace works and how to use it to turn physical drawings
into cut-ready files.
• Try image tracing in software such as LightBurn.
• Cut their own acrylic pieces using the laser (with assistance if they
want).
• Assemble jewelry or keychains at the big table using pliers and
supplies provided.
It is primarily a practical, hands-on workshop. There will be short
demonstrations (ShaperTrace + basic file prep), but most of the time is
spent designing, cutting, and assembling your own creations.
Who can join/not join?
Any member. Children are allowed to join, as long as they are accompanied by a
responsible adult who supervises them, and they work on the same project
together.
Language: English/Swedish depending on the preference of the course participants

Requirements
- You must have taken the laser cutter online course
- Bring a laptop, to more easily be able to design your own things.
- (optional) Bring a finished drawing or idea.
As usual, you are required to be a member of Stockholm Makerspace to participate in our courses. You must also be registered through this registration page on Simplesignup in order to take the course.
